TRAIN LIKE YOU FIGHT.....FIGHT LIKE YOU TRAIN!!!!

I've decided to change up the Training page to focus more on how to train rather than what training and drills to do. If you need advice on drills to run go to fireengineering.com and firefighterclosecalls.com , they both have amazing drill sheets you can print off to give to the crew!!

Training Tip #10/08- Your only as strong as your weakest link! Got a probie? Just becuase you ran a radio communication drill last month, you may need to run it agin with the new firefighter. What is it going to hurt running it again? Nothing!!! You can fine tune your skills while improving anothers.  You may want to look at it this way, Firefighter skills are pieces of a puzzle. Functioning at a scene requires all skills to be proficent.  You may be very good on the radio when operating a hoseline, but can you do the same when your the rescue team, or when calling a MAYDAY???  Take the time to review each puzzle piece and try putting a few pieces together. In the end our puzzle will look pretty damn good!!! cph-08

FOAM/WATER Application Formulas:
AREA=LENGTH x WIDTH for structure size
1 story structure: length x width ÷ 3 = ( )needed GPM of water
2 story structure: length x width ÷ 3 x2 =( )needed GPM of water
With foam you can generally cut those numbers in half or in thirds
Polar Solvents(mix with H2O) Set foam @ 6%
Hydro-Carbons(dont mix with H2O) Set foam @ 3%
\ AFFF will work with Both
